Margaret Roche is the founder of Roche Dietitians and a nationally recognized leader in nutrition consulting. She is a registered dietitian with a master’s degree in clinical nutrition. She has advanced credentials as a certified diabetes educator, is board certified as a specialist in gerontological nutrition and is distinguished as a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is particularly interested in the use of cannabinoids for the older adult.
Dr. Steven Salzman, Chief Medical Officer, has been a practicing trauma surgeon and trauma intensivist for over 20 years; he has unparalleled experience treating patients with sleep disorders and complex pain syndromes. Dr. Salzman has integral faculty involvement in resident and fellow education at hospitals where he is on staff, and sits on a number of philanthropic and outreach boards.
Dr. George Gavrilos, Chief Pharmacy Officer, is a board-certified critical care pharmacist, specializing in mechanical circulatory support. He is adjunct faculty at schools of pharmacy in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska, and currently serves as Director of Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency Training at the hospital where he is on staff. His particular cannabis-related research interests include the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of cannabis and enzymatic drug-drug interactions.
Joseph Cachey III is an attorney and former hemp senior executive. Mr. Cachey is a member of the Colorado bar, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree and Master of Law degree in Tax from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. His extensive business experience includes serving as CEO at Green Rock Hemp Holdings, LLC, a vertically integrated hemp and CBD production company, and holding various leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer with a number of financial companies. Cachey has also served as a gubernatorial-appointed member of the Colorado State Banking Board.
Dr. Kushner is presently the Medical Director of Brightside Clinic, an innovative outpatient program treating addiction all across Illinois; improving the tolerability and success of treatment while lowering barriers and raising access to care. He board-certified in Addiction Medicine and Internal Medicine and also works as a Hospitalist at a major tertiary care hospital in the Chicago area. His expertise spans from the management critically ill hospitalized patients to those suffering from chronic pain, mental health conditions and those who have become dependent on substances. Dr. Kushner is a consultant to hospital systems as well as digital health startups. He lives in the Suburbs of Chicago and is married with three young children who are being indoctrinated into the love of culture and world travel.
Bonni Goldstein, MD is the Medical Director of Canna-Centers, a California-based medical practice devoted to educating patients about the use of cannabis for chronic medical conditions. After years of working in the specialty of Pediatric Emergency medicine, she developed an interest in the science of cannabis after witnessing its beneficial effects in an ill friend. Over the last 14 years she has evaluated thousands of patients for use of medical cannabis and is recognized as an expert in the clinical application of cannabis therapeutics. She has a special interest in treating children with intractable epilepsy, autism, cancer and other conditions.
Kylie has had a strong academic career in Chinese medicine, integrative medicine and since 2018, medicinal cannabis after career changing from optometry. She has held senior leadership positions in the Australian university and private education sector and is one of the leaders in cannabis education in Australia. She works as the Chief Scientific Officer at Releaf Group Ltd and Academic Director of the International College of Cannabinoid Medicine. She is currently conducting a two-year observational study in medicinal cannabis users. Her new book, O’Brien & Blair, Medicinal Cannabis and CBD in Mental Healthcare, US: Springer 2021 was released in 2021.
Dr. Jason Canner, Physician Advisor, is a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. He has growing experience treating nausea and vomiting, anorexia and pain, with cannabis amongst his cancer patients. Dr. Canner has become a key resource for these patients, as he spends dedicated time discussing the uses of cannabis and dispelling concerns of his families. He works closely with Dr. Salzman to assure the best treatment plans are presented.
